Kingston, NY— A slow first half ultimately undoes Stockade FC, in front of 940 supporters at Dietz Stadium, as Stockade FC falls 2-1 to Valeo FC.
Two quick counter attacks in the first half lead to Valeo FC goals and were enough to hold off a late surge from Stockade FC in the second.
Richard Morris would make it interesting late with a 90th minute goal after Zac Vanikiotis (Manhattan) did the hard work to create the opportunity and Alessio Hernandez (Iona) played the inch perfect pass. Time eventually ran out on the Stockade comeback bid.
Stockade FC falls to 1-2-2 (W-L-T) on the season and will travel to Hartford next weekend, June 11, for a 7PM matchup with Hartford City. The club will return home to Dietz Stadium on June 18 when Syracuse FC visits.
