Poughkeepsie, NY- Daniel D’Ippolito recorded his second hat-trick in 3 matches this season to fire Stockade FC past previously unbeaten Hartford City FC on Saturday night.
Just 11 minutes in, D’Ippolito (Fordham) would put Stockade in front. Jacob Schulman would send D’Ippolito in on goal 1-v-1 to make no mistake.
In the 25th minute, Stockade would strike again. Hugo Guerra (Marist) would send a dangerous ball into box that D’Ippolito would find and fire home for his brace.
After halftime, 56 minutes in, D’Ippolito would complete his hat-trick with a moment of genius. A long ball from Dylan McDermott (Binghamton) was flicked on by D’Ippolito to do all the work himself, run onto it, cut to his left foot and fire past the keeper from 18 yards out.
D’Ippolito’s second hat-trick of the year puts him at 7 goals on the season, in only 3 matches played.
Stockade FC’s backline would close out the final minutes of the night and maintain the shutout. Liam Salmon would make his debut on the evening as part of an outstanding Stockade backline featuring McDermott, Alberto Molina (URI), Mario Bunjaj and Joey Dolan.
Stockade FC moves to 4-0-0 (W-L-D) on the year and sits alone at the top of the conference standings.
