Comeback Kids Steal a Point at Valeo FC

Newton, MA — Stockade FC completes a 2-goal comeback on the road at Valeo FC to earn a point and remain unbeaten. 

A slow start for Stockade FC saw an early hole as Valeo struck twice in the first 10 minutes to jump to a 2-0 advantage. An early set piece for Valeo created a well struck header to open the scoring in the 6th minute. The opener for Valeo would be the first time Stockade has trailed in 2021.

Valeo would double their advantage only 3 minutes later as a left footed strike from 20 yards out would beat a diving Dylan McDermott (Marist). 

Stockade FC would begin to create chances towards the end of the first half as strikes from Scott Zobre, Hugo Guerra (URI) and Vinny Colantuono nearly cut the deficit. 

Ultimately, the needed spark would come from the bench. Richard Morris, Petro Klishch (Elon), Brandon Davenport (New Paltz), Kevin Doorley (New Paltz), Joe Kresse (Manhattanville) and Nick Fernandes (Siena) would begin to put Stockade FC on the front foot. 

In the 80th minute, Stockade FC would break through and halve the Valeo lead as Klishch found space in the box to slam home the lifeline. Doorley and Fernandes would supply the pass that created the opportunity. 

5 minutes later, Stockade FC would find the equalizer! Richard Morris found the perfect space to finish a stunning driven cross from Klishch. The equalizer cued a massive team celebration on the sideline and earned a road point for unbeaten Stockade FC. 

Stockade FC moves to 4-0-4 (W-L-T) and remains in sole possession of first place in the North Atlantic Conference. 

The boys return to Kingston next weekend, July 3rd, when Rough Diamonds head to town for a 5PM kickoff at Dietz Stadium.

MOTM — The Bench

Richard Morris, Petro Klishch (Elon), Brandon Davenport (New Paltz), Kevin Doorley (New Paltz), Joe Kresse (Manhattanville) and Nick Fernandes (Siena) created the late game heroics as Stockade FC scored twice in the final 10 minutes to remain unbeaten and earn a draw at Valeo. 

Stockade FC Handles Boston City in Front of 807 at Dietz Stadium

Kingston, NY — In Stockade FC’s first match with expanded capacity at Dietz Stadium, a crowd of 807 was on hand to see an impressive performance in a dominating 3-0 win over Boston City.

Vinny Colantuono opened the scoring for Stockade FC in the 42nd minute as he pounced on a mistake by a Boston defender to slot home the Stockade FC lead.

After the halftime break, Stockade FC would double its lead through Hugo Guerra (URI) in the 66th minute as Matt Koziol provided the key pass to spring Guerra in on goal. 

A burst of energy from the reserves would force the Stockade FC third as Petro Klishch (Elon) would slam home the final touches on a 3-0 win. The day featured Stockade FC debuts for Nick Fernandes (Siena) and Lorenzo Nunez (West Virginia).

Stockade FC moves to 4-0-3 (W-L-T) on the year and retains sole possession of first place in the conference standings. 

The boys travel to Valeo FC next weekend, June 26, before returning home for a July 3 match up with Rough Diamonds at Dietz Stadium. 


MOTM: Matt Koziol (#8 MF)

The Stockade FC captain was instrumental in another home shutout. Koziol, in his first 90 minute performance since his return from injury, controlled the midfield in a dominate 3-0 performance. 

Late Goal Forces Stockade FC to Share Points in Hartford

Portland, CT — A late equalizer from Hartford City forced Stockade FC to share the points on the road in Hartford City.

A back and forth first half, saw only a few half chances for both sides, the better of which came to Stockade FC. Hugo Guerra (URI) found his space on the left flank but fired a strike just wide.

Stockade FC began to develop a rhythm in the second half and create more dangerous play. The deadlock was finally broken in the 62’ minute when pressure forced a Hartford City turnover and Richard Morris sprung to action. Morris calmly tucked home the Stockade FC lead with his second goal in consecutive matches. 

Ultimately, a late Hartford equalizer would spoil the night as a miss hit cross caught Dylan McDermott (Marist) off his line.

Both teams pushed for a late winner. Chances were created because of tired legs, but in the end, no winner was in the cards for either side. 

After a 3-0 win in Kingston, and a 1-1 draw in Hartford, Stockade FC retains the Wooden Shoe, the trophy created by the Dutch Guard and Agents of Hale. 

Stockade FC remains undefeated at 3-0-3 (W-L-T) and returns to Dietz Stadium on Saturday June 19 when Boston City travels to Kingston. 

MOTM: Christian Geddes (#3 Defender)

The Iona outside back was brilliant on defense all night, limiting the chances for Hartford City and creating Stockade FC attacks through his build up play. 

Colantuono’s Big Day Leads Stockade FC to Win on the Road

Kingston, NY — Stockade FC scores 5 on the road in Lowell, MA to beat Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds, 5-1.  Vinny Colantuono’s brace set the tone for a big offensive production. 

Vinny Colantuono scored his first goal 13 minutes into the match with a rocket from just outside the box. Hugo Guerra set it up with as Colantuono beat the keeper to the far post. 

In the 25th, Rough Diamonds would equalize as Sean Lanzillo found the final touch in the box.

Stockade FC would respond. Again, Colantuono would find space in the box as Sam LaTorre (Marist) sent him in on goal for a calm finish to push Stockade back into the lead, 2-1. 

After the half, Stockade FC came out as the aggressors and began to dictate the pace of the match. Colantuono would be involved again as his pass was taken down beautifully on the chest of Scott Zobre for a cracking left footed finish to make it 3-1.

Richard Morris off the bench would make an immediate impact just 4 minutes into his appearance. Colantuono would register his second assist of the match as his driven cross was slammed home by Morris at the back post. Morris’ goal marked his first for Stockade FC. 

Christian Geddes (Iona) would wrap up the day with his first Stockade FC goal as Petro Klishch (Elon), Sam LaTorre and Brandon Davenport (New Paltz) created space for Geddes to put the icing on the cake and celebrate with the amazing traveling Dutch Guard. 

The win secured 3 points for Stockade FC on the road and saw NPSL debuts David Penafiel, Petro Klishch, John Bernardi (Oneonta) and Luke Rossiter (Siena). 

Stockade FC improves to 3-0-2 (W-L-T) and travels to Hartford City FC next weekend, June 12 before returning home to Dietz Stadium on June 19 when Boston City heads to Kingston. 

MOTM — Vinny Colantuono [#19 FWD]

Colantuono’s 2 goals and 2 assists propelled Stockade FC to a big offensive day at Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds.  Colantuono would record a brace in the first half before setting up 2 in the second as Stockade FC upended Rough Diamonds, 5-1. 

Stockade FC Settles for Scoreless Draw with Valeo FC

Kingston, NY — On a cold and windy night at Dietz Stadium, Stockade FC and Valeo FC battled to a scoreless draw and a share of the points. An electric crowd made their presence heard all night long. 

A rocky first half saw both teams attempting to find a hold on the match in unseasonable conditions. The best chance for Stockade FC came in the first half as Pedro Espindola cut in on his right foot but his effort was directly at the Valeo goalkeeper. 

The second half began with a burst of energy from the Stockade FC front line as they began to create more opportunities on goal. A Vinny Colantuono effort was driven off the post, but eventually ruled offsides, and created a spark. 

The most clear cut chance of the game came when Scott Zobre was sent in on a breakaway but his finish could not beat the Valeo keeper.

Cries for a penalty in the 68th minute when unheard as Colantuono was taken down in the box with an extremely dangerous challenge. 

Dylan McDermott (Marist) came up big late in a match to preserve Stockade FC’s third shutout of the season. On a free kick, McDermott’s diving effort bounced off the crossbar and eventually out of danger. 

Stockade FC remains unbeaten on the year at 2-0-2 (W-L-T) and travels on the road for the next 2 matches. Next weekend, Stockade FC will travel to Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds (Sat. 6/5 @ 7PM) before heading to Hartford the following weekend (Sat. 6/12 @ 7PM. Stockade FC will return to Dietz Stadium on Saturday June 19 at 6PM when Boston City rolls into to Kingston. 

MOTM: Joao Avila (#5 CB)

The Marist Men’s Soccer centerback allowed little to no danger on the Stockade FC goal. His ability to link play with the midfielders create dangerous opportunities going forward. Late in the match, Avila even found himself pushing forward to help find a game winner. Avila has been critical in Stockade FC starting the season with 3 shutouts in 4 matches.

Stockade FC held to Draw with Boston City in Revere

Revere, MA — Stockade FC and Boston City battled to a 2-2 draw on a hot Saturday afternoon in Revere, MA. 

Scott Zobre got the ball rolling for Stockade FC on the road in the 36th minute as Vinny Colantuono’s hard work up front sent Zobre on a breakaway for a calm finish to give Stockade FC the lead.

Almost instantly, Boston City equalized as a long ball driven into the Stockade box was knocked down and slammed home past Dylan McDermott. The immediate response from Boston City was the first goal Stockade FC has surrendered during the 2021 campaign.

Just before the halftime break, shouts for a Stockade FC penalty fell on deaf ears as Vinny Colantuono was tackle hard in the box.

After the break, Stockade FC would provide a burst of energy and begin to dictate the pace of play. After just 5 minutes of the 2nd half, Scott Zobre would add his second goal of the day to reestablish the Stockade lead. Evan Mason (Marist) played a gorgeous ball to spring Hugo Guerra (URI) into the box and provided the perfect cross for Zobre to tap in at the back post. 

Again, Boston City would equalize almost immediately. Joao Avila (Marist) made a beautiful sliding tackle in the box but was unlucky to see the ball bounce off his arm and the penalty was given to level the match. 

Stockade FC would provide the late dramatics as they pushed for a winner. Richard Morris, Pierrick Gould (Georgetown) and Thomas Huleatt (Princeton) would create the spark off the bench and create a number of chances to take home all 3 points. A few massive chances were missed in the final moments as Gould struck the bar, Morris sent a volley over top and Sam LaTorre (Marist) forced a massive game saving save from the Boston City keeper. 

Stockade FC remains unbeaten at 2-0-1 (W-L-T) and will return home next Saturday, May 29th, for a 6PM matchup with Valeo SC at Dietz Stadium.

Zobre’s brace propelled Stockade FC to secure a road point in Boston. Zobre’s team leading 3 goals on the year helped Stockade FC remIn atop the North Atlantic Conference table. 

First Half Flurry Propels Stockade FC Over Hartford City, 3-0

Kingston, NY — Stockade FC used a first half flurry of goals to defeated rivals Hartford City FC on Saturday night at Dietz Stadium. Stockade FC welcomed a large crowd of 467 fans, who witnessed a dominating first 45 minutes for the boys in Orange.

Sam LaTorre (Marist) opened the scoring just 5 minutes into the match as Paterson Kabore delivered the perfect set piece off the corner kick. 

Vinny Colantuono would double the Stockade FC advantage in the 21st minute as Scott Zobre sent him through to goal 

Colantuono would add his second goal of the match only 3 minutes later. Zobre, again, would apply the assist that saw Colantuono provide a beautiful touch to lob the ball over the Hartford keeper for a 3-0 lead.

Ultimately, the halftime lead would hold as Dylan McDermott (Marist) and the Stockade FC back line registered their second consecutive shutout to open the season.

Stockade FC improves to 2-0-0 on the year and will travel to Boston City FC next Saturday, May 22, for a 1PM kickoff at Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere, MA. 

Stockade FC returns home to Dietz Stadium on Saturday May 29th for a 6PM kickoff with Valeo SC.

The Stockade FC forward made an immediate impression in his return to the starting lineup as he recorded a first half brace to lead Stockade FC to a 3-0 win over Hartford City FC.

Stockade FC Blanks New York Shockers in NPSL Return

Kingston, NY— Stockade FC returned to NPSL play, to shut out newcomers New York Shockers at Dietz Stadium on Saturday evening. A reduced capacity of 200 supporters welcomed Stockade FC back to the pitch for the first time since 2019. 

Hugo Guerra (URI) opened the scoring in the 9th minute after Sam LaTorre (Marist) and Evan Mason (Marist) combined to send him through on goal. Guerra, who featured for Stockade FC in 2018, marked his name on the scoresheet quickly in his return. 

In the 62nd minute, captain Scott Zobre made his mark on the match to double the Stockade FC lead. After a driven ball from goalkeeper Dylan McDermott (Marist) , Zobre was able to pounce on a mistake at the back and chip the ball over the keeper. 

Dylan McDermott and the Stockade FC defense were sensational in limiting Shocker chances and holding the shut out.

Stockade FC returns to Dietz Stadium next Saturday, May 15, when rivals Hartford City travel to Kingston. 

MOTM: Dylan McDermott (GK #1)

The Marist keeper was fantastic in his first NPSL start for Stockade FC. McDermott made 8 saves to preserve the 2-0 win.
