Poughkeepsie, NY — Kristian Shkreli’s first half goal isn’t enough as Stockade FC falls to New York Shockers in first defeat of the 2023 NPSL season.
Stockade FC would look lively early on as Daniel D’Ippolito would find Kristian Shkreli in space inside the box to cut inside and beat the Shockers keeper for a 1-0 lead.
In the 25th minute, Shockers would find their answer as Wisdom Ishaya found himself with an open net after an error at the back.
After 72 minutes, Shockers would go down to 10-men after Pedro Espindola received his second yellow card after a tackle on Joey Dolan and received his marching orders.
Stockade would begin to pump numbers forward in order to look for a winner with the man advantage. While pushing numbers into the attack, Stockade would be caught on the counter. This time, Flippo Bellu would round Dylan McDermott and take the lead.
Shockers would add their third of the night as Ishaya converted a penalty in the dying minutes of the match.
Stockade FC falls to 6-1-2 (W-L-D) on the year and will travel to Syracuse in the regular season finale on July 8th.
Stockade FC returns to Tenney on Saturday July 15th to host the North Atlantic Conference championship, opponent to be decided by wildcard matchup.
