Kingston, NY– Former Stockade FC player and Wake Forest alum Prince Amponsah has signed a professional contract with Major League Soccer side New York City FC. The Bronx native has signed a homegrown contract with the club, New York City FC announced on the organization's official social media channels.

The centerback featured for Stockade FC in 2022, playing in 3 matches and starting them all. On his debut, on June 18, 2022, Amponsah scored a second half game winner at Dietz Stadium en route to a 2-0 win over Syracuse FC. Amponsah would also see his name in the stat column in a 2-1 loss to New York Shockers in late June. His sweetly played cross off a short corner was headed home by Oswald Annang.

After a long line of Stockade alums to sign professional contracts, both foreign and domestic, Prince Amponsah becomes the first-ever Stockade FC Alum to sign an MLS contract.
