Stockade FC Falls in Hartford Despite Strong Second Half

Hartford, CT — Goals from Jonathan Salguero and Hugo Guerra were not enough as Stockade FC falls to Hartford City on the road.

For the second straight match, Stockade would find themselves down early as Hartford worked a quality chance off the counter attack and slotted in the lead only 6 minutes in.

Stockade FC would see an equalizer attempt denied as Hugo Guerra was taken down in the box after 15 minutes but the referee waved off the claim. Moments later, Hartford would double their lead at the other end.

After 29 minutes, Jonathan Salguero would give Stockade a lifeline. His driven cross to the far post had eyes for the net and found its way in to half the lead.

The one goal deficit did not last long as Hartford would immediately answer and restore the 2-goal lead.

After the halftime break, Stockade FC would find a rhythm and control a great percentage of the chances.

In the 50th minute Jared Juleau was brought down in the box and Hugo Guerra would step up to the spot and cut the lead to 3-2.

Ultimately, Stockade was not able to find the equalizer as they fall to 0-2-1 (W-L-D) on the season. The chance to bounce back from the slow start comes as the club returns to Tenney Stadium on Saturday May 25 at 6PM versus Syracuse FC.
