Poughkeepsie, NY — Stockade FC picked up their first win of the 2024 campaign on Saturday night thanks to Richard Morel’s two-goal performance at Tenney Stadium.
Stockade FC was after it early on with a number of dangerous chances. After 14 minutes, Morel would find the breakthrough. Anthony Denis sent a perfectly weighted ball over the top to Jonathan Salguero on the left wing. Salguero would make his way inside the box and find Morel to calmly slot home the lead.
After halftime, Stockade would continue to apply the pressure. Morel would find his brace in the 53rd minute on a lovely team goal. Anthony Denis would again start the attack as he found Jared Juleau inside. Juleau would connect with Mateo Marra who played Morel into the box for another cool finish to double the lead.
The win improves Stockade to 1-4-1 (W-L-D) on the season. The team returns home next Saturday June 15 as New Jersey United comes to Poughkeepsie.
